The mission of Claiborne Emergency Medical Service is to provide quality pre-hospital emergency medical care, treatment, and transportation utilizing a caring and compassionate approach to those whom we serve.
We strive to treat and interact with all people as we would like all people to treat and interact with us as individuals. Our primary goal is to provide the most enhanced medical care available utilizing the latest technology and the most advanced treatments and procedures. This is so we can provide the highest standard of care possible. We further endeavor to create a work environment which encourages the free exchange of ideas while fostering learning and challenging each of our employees to achieve the highest possible standard of care for their patients. We operate as a family of providers where our strengths and weaknesses are no less or no greater than any single provider.
Services
Ambulance & Paramedic Services
Claiborne EMS provides ambulance and paramedic service to all residents, 24 hours a day. The department responds to all emergencies and also transports senior citizens and convalescents to the doctor or hospital if your doctor deems it medically necessary. The department is staffed with a Paramedic on every ambulance. We also have on staff 9 Critical Care Paramedics. The department is equipped with the newest heart monitor offered by Zoll to better fit the needs of the community.
CPR & Emergency Medical Care Training
Claiborne County EMS is an approved Training Center for the American Heart Association where we provide CPR, Heart Saver First Aid, BLS provider, ACLS, and PALS courses for both community and health care providers. We also have instructors certified to teach Stop the Bleed, and many other courses.
Disaster Planning & Homeland Security
The department oversees the county’s disaster planning and homeland security emergency readiness.
Stand-by Events
Claiborne EMS does Paramedic stand-by at all major events(Football games, White Lightning Festival, Claiborne County Fair, Church Events, LMU Sporting Events, etc.). Claiborne EMS is always willing to offer emergency care during large events and festivals. To schedule an event call 423-526-2223.

The number for non-emergency related services is 423-526-2244 during office hours 8AM-4PM (Mon-Fri).
Will my health or auto insurance cover my ambulance transport?
In most cases your insurance will pay all or a portion of your transport. Please refer to your individual policy for clarification. Our office staff will be glad to assist with any specific questions.
