County Commissioners
The County Commission is the County Legislative Body for Claiborne County. It is composed of 21 members from 9 districts. Commissioners are elected by voters in their districts for 4-year terms. Commissioners must represent substantially equal populations based on the latest federal census. County Commissioners must reside within and be a qualified voter of the district represented. The Events calendar lists the date and time of County Commission meetings along with the current meeting agenda.
In compliance with Tenn. Code Ann. Section 8-44-112, public attending Claiborne County Commission meetings may make comments on the items included on the agenda in the following ways:
(1) If attending in person, the pubic may raise their hands during the meeting and wait for recognition by the Chairman, or
(2) By requesting prior to the meeting to be recognized for comment at the meeting.
